The Arsenal and Everton match that took place yesterday, April 7th left Unai Emery’s team with a 1-0 loss. However, the 47-year-old manager remains positive despite tragic defeat against The Toffees and says his team remains “well” after their poor performance in the field.
Arsenal’s quest to land in the top four in the Premier League quakes as they are set back with such a loss. The team could possibly miss out on as much as £60m in terms of commercial revenues if the team does not find success in finding their place in the competition anytime soon.
Emery’s optimism baffles many and says “I don’t think we are very bad. It is a bad result, not a good performance but we are fourth. We know it is going to be difficult and this was a very good opportunity to take the three points and go third, but after the result we are fourth and we need to be consistent.”
During the first half when Arsenal wasn’t exactly playing their best, Arsenal’s manager begged to differ and said his boys were showing consistent gameplay throughout that period. If Chelsea gets a win against West Ham later tonight, then Emery’s team will fall into fifth place.
Challenges lie ahead as the team makes their way to Leicester and Watford which is just four out of their six games they will need to do better at.
“We are going to have chances also in the next matches and it depends on us and on other teams,” Emery adds.
