Thierry Henry Bravely Acknowledges France’s Win despite Heartbreaking Loss for Belgium

Thierry Henry was part of the team who won the 1998 World Cup title. Belgium’s assistant coach felt waves of emotion post-loss against his former team France. The score was 1-0 with France leading and Belgium going home from a devastating World Cup loss. The game took place in St. Petersburg, Russia last Tuesday.

Congratulations and sympathies have been extended from Henry to the players and staff of the Belgium team, as he hugged and spoke to the winners and losers. Prior to the game, the forty-year-old assistant coach of Belgium was quite sociable and friendly with the French players and even gave his old teammate, Didier Deschamps a hug.

The coach of France was in the same team as Thierry Henry in 1998 when they beat Brazil to the World Cup championship title. Henry was caught solemnly bowing down in silence during the French and Belgium national anthem.

Belgium goes straight to the semis on July 14, Saturday playing against the winner of Thursday’s match, Croatia or England.
