The EA Sports’ FIFA 19 game has dropped Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo as their main cover star. The company tweeted earlier this month that it will not feature the Balon d’Or winner. The company decided to make a more collaborative move by putting Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, PSG’s Neymar, and Juventus’ Paulo Dybala who all shared the main cover.
EA Sports said in a statement “We often celebrate different talent across our sports games, and with the UEFA Champions League knockout stages underway we are featuring some of the biggest stars in football and bringing new players a range of content to get excited about.”
Due to a tax evasion case and a rape allegation, Ronaldo’s street cred has been on suspension quite literally. The 34-year-old was pinned with a rape allegation last October and decided to take the £16.6 million fine. The company also said that they were “closely monitoring” the allegation after a woman claimed she was raped during his trip to Las Vegas in 2009. There will also be a suspension for 23 months for his tax evasion case during his time at Real Madrid in Spain.
