Harry Maguire’s Manchester City Move Put on Hold Due to Steep Price Tag

England’s proud defender, Harry Maguire was supposedly set to transfer to Pep Guardiola’s team, Manchester City next season. However, the player’s valuation at £90 million has City holding the move due to the level of expense. Leicester wants the £90 million and has expressed keenly their interest in the selling the 26-year-old player at that exact valuation.

City’s manager, Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for new talent and one that will fill the center back position currently occupied by Vincent Kompany at City. Despite the urge to have Maguire take Kompany’s place, clubs at the Premier League, Manchester City most especially, will not go as far or as high as Leicester’s price. In the meantime, City is putting their foot down and is waiting for Leicester to lower their rate for Maguire’s move.

Maguire’s contract which was signed just last September with Leicester is also pretty new and the team refuses to just give the talent up, losing one of its most skilled players on the team. It’s not just City though who has shown interest in the English footballer, Manchester United has also expressed interest on Maguire. Nevertheless, Manchester City did manage to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester for £60 million which by far, is the club’s most expensive purchase to date. Still, there’s no telling how high the club will go for Maguire, anything could go at this point.
