Royal Flush

Without the regards of wild cards, a royal flush is considered the highest card ranking of a hand. A straight flush is consists of five cards of the same sequence. The highest straight flush you could ever group is Royal Flush, which consists of cards like A-K.-Q-J-10 of a suit.

Straight Flush

This is different from straight flush. The straight combination is consists of five cards varied suits in sequential order. The suits may be different, but the essential thing in straight combination is its number arrangement.

Example: 10, 9,8,7,6. It can also be counted as 6, 7, 8, 9, 19—as long as the card’s face value is in order.

Four of a Kind

Four cards of the same rank, and one side card or ‘kicker’. In the event of a tie, the highest four of a kind wins.

Full House

This is also termed as a boat; this combination has three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. Ranking in Full house combination is determined by which is higher in the rank of same three card value.

For instance; if you have a hand combination of 8-8-8-3-3 to be compared to 8-8-8-AA, the first one gets the highest rank.

This is a combination of Five Cards of the same suit. If you are to compare two flushes, automatically the one with the highest card values is higher. If the highest card is equal, the comparing will be moved to the second highest cards of each one. This will continue to follow if most cards in a flush have equal rank.

Don’t also confuse Straight with Flush or Straight Flush – although they share same names, they are different from one another. Straight is consists of sequential numbers – regardless of the suits each one represents. Example of this is 3,4,5,6,7 in chronological order – but different suits.

Three of a Kind

This is combination is consists of three cards of the same rank combined with two unequal cards. It is also called as the Triplets or Trips.

When you compare two three of a kind, you can determine which is higher by the card value of the combination themselves. If the first two card value of the triplets are in the same rank, the lower of the last card will be compared. Example: 3-3-3-3-6 beats 5-5-5-5-2 because 6 is higher than 2.

One Pair

This is the hand with two cards of the same rank, and three random cards combined. When you compare a pair to another, the hand with the higher card value is favorable. Example: 6-6-4-3-2 beats 5-5-A-K-Q. However, when the pairs are equal, you only need to compare the fourth card value in order to determine which one is higher. Example: K-K-4-5 beats Q-Q-3-2 because the 2 beats the 3.

High Card

Any hand that does not qualify under the categories listed. In the event of a tie, the highest card wins, such as “ace-high”
