Liverpool and Tottenham Back on the Field Since Champions League Final Flop

The Champions League final in Madrid wasn’t complete with seven players from both Liverpool and Tottenham. However, after their international break and individual matches to train form the likes of Harry Kane and Joe Gomez are back at St. George’s Park. Come Thursday’s semi-final, Southgate’s men will be playing again on Sunday in a shot at either the final or third place play-off.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson, and Joe Gomez are back to training after their notable European victory. Tottenham’s Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Diele Alli, along with Harry Kane as mentioned, are also back in England to train under manager Gareth Southgate for  2 weeks in time for Thursday’s Nations League semi-final against Holland and Portugal, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite the English team back, Southgate’s still short of players for the Nations League match. This, however, gave him the opportunity to showcase his young up and comers, 22-year-old Josh Onomah and 20-year-old Lloyd Kelly from Spurs Academy and Bournemouth respectively. The two junior players have been training with the senior squad for weeks now as they train hard for their match against the Dutch.
