The Rajamangala Stadium was filled with mixed emotion yesterday as a 2-2 draw brought about by Malaysia and Thailand. The finals are nearing and the Harimau Malayas have made their way into the last leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup. Malaysia’s coach Milovan Rajevac did express his admiration for Thailand’s Tan Cheng Hoe and his team.
Even if the semi-finals were disappointing on Rajevac’s part, the Serbian coach was still optimistic about his team’s drive to get to the finals. When speaking his sentiments with the official website of the AFF Suzuki Cup, the Malaysia coach said “Of course, I’m not satisfied since we didn’t qualify for the final but it’s another experience for the players. I want to congratulate the Malaysian team. They deserve to play in the final,” he said.’
He then expressed how much Malaysia pushed harder to get to the finals with a statement saying: “In both matches, the Malaysian team definitely showed more determination and aggressiveness than Thailand. They wanted to get to this final so much.”
Rajevac’s team will now have to move forward concentrating on the nearing AFC Asian Cup 2019. “The players definitely need some rest after a long season and some players who played in the cup finals didn’t have a break at all. They need to refresh themselves physically and mentally before the biggest tournament in Asia,” The Serbian adds.
