Vietnam’s football coach Park Hang-Seo has gone with a risky move when he sent out the team on the pitch without Nguyen Anh Duc. This brought many head turning fans since the 33-year-old striker was one to watch throughout the Suzuki Cup.
ParkHang-Seo made the decision in order to add more energy and dynamic to since the-three who were all 21-year-olds by average. This move worked itself head-turning gave Vietnam the advantage tactically speaking, but essentially removed the edge in their attack. Vietnamese forwards Phan Van Duc and Ha Duc Chinh kept running into empty spaces.
Duc Chinh missed out on two big openings, as Malaysia showed Vietnam how complacent their execution was in front of the goal. Despite such, Malaysia’s defense was disrupted by the Golden Dragons’ calculated attack.
Nguyen Huy Hung deflected a shot from the corner which happened 22 minutes into the game making some room for an advantage for Vietnam. Park Hang-Seo’s team has now conceded three out of four goals from a set-piece.
