Vietnam’s Coach Park Hang-seo Hustling Hard to Beat Japan in AFC Asian Cup

Vietnam has recently been crowned the champions of the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2018. The record-breaking win for Vietnam that motivates coach Park Hang-seo to pursue the task of beating Japan for the championship title for AFC Asian Cup. The 60-year-old South Korean coach of Vietnam is confident of just the attempt to beat the four-time championship holders.

“Many pundits are expecting Japan to win [on Thursday], but our technical team is working hard to achieve victory and I believe our players will fight till the end without fear,” said Park. The coach adds that taking on Iraq and Iran during the group stages will help harness the potential of his players and adjust to different techniques that Japan is bound to throw or overestimate.

During a news conference prior to the match, Park released a statement saying “Japan has a different playing style, but playing Iraq and Iran, who are also very strong teams, has been really helpful for the players going in against Japan.”

Park Hang-seo reveals that his expectation of just reaching the 16th round of the Asian Cup this year, which surprised and humbled him simultaneously. The South Korean coach goes on to say that no matter how far they go, there’s always room for improvement and broadening experiences for his Vietnam team.
